Welcome, the orifice tube is in the inlet pipe of the evaporator core. The fitting that you need to access to change it isdirectly under the accumulator (silver can looking thing on the passenger's side of the engine compartment, has a switch and a hose and a service fitting in it). Disconnectthe pipe under the accumulator, and the orifice tube is inside the pipe, but pay close attention as to which end you pull out, you can install these backwards and it will not funtion properly.

I'll state the obvious... The refridgerant must be recovered prior to opening up the system to replace the orifice tube...

I am wondering and thinking of trying a retrofit myself.......Does onehave to havea special tool to remove the orifice tube? I have seen the tools on the internet but wasn't going to buy one unless I had too. Any other way to get it out?

retrofitting a 1991 s-10 Blazer

I use a set of hemistats, but you may need the tool depending on how stuck it is.
