Will tape on my blazers's paint get damaged?
Hello, I had my glass rear tailgate window smashed. I need to tape it up with some plastic but my question is , what tape can I buy from home depot that will be sticky enough to tape down the plastic to the back really nicely, as I will be driving fast and it gets windy here, but my issue is that I need to know what tape will COME OFF without damaging the paint. If someone can help recommend one, I would appreciate it. Thanks

If your paint isn't peeling or anything I don't think any tape would really hurt your paint you might just have to take some goo gone to it afterwords to remove the sticky residue.

dont put any grit UNDER the tape and you should be ok with most tapes... i put Tape, pressure sensative adhesive, olive cloth (aka 100 MPH tape) on mine for about a week in summer... other than a little goo-gone being needed to get the residue, it was fine.

just don't use moisture barrier tape.
you know, the red tuck tape you seal up the plastic with, when covering up the insulation in a wall.
that s**t will not come off your paint easily.
my youngest brother has his rear window implode on Christmas eve. while he was inside finding somemore duct tape, his tool of a friend saw a roll of red tuck tape (for the plastic) and thought he'd help by finishing off the job. needless to say it stuck quite good.
