Default Window & Door-Lock Switch Module Install

1998 Blazer LS, 4-door with electric windows and door-locks. Door-lock switch has gotten wonky and I purchased the module for driver's door. Am having great difficulty removing the wiring-harness connectors from the OEM module and am concerned about damaging the connectors. I believe I have correctly identified the "release catch" on each of the two connectors but they will not move. Any suggestions, comments or tips for an old guy trying to keep his truck going?

Also, I need to replace the lift-support struts on the tailgate glass and had to return one pair that did not fit and were obviously too short. The OEM struts measure 24 inches fully extended, have hinge-pins connectors on the top/glass and ball-socket connectors on the bottom/body. Anybody have a recommendation for a replacement other than GM?

Thanks, WC

They sometimes(most times...) are a pain to remove. I try to have something wedged enough to push the release, then wiggle back and forth while pulling.

I have broken the tab off on the wifes old truck, and it never came undone. But since haven't had to do it to neither of the vehicles I have now. But have thought about it....

Thanks DonL for the quick reply. I will be getting after it shortly and will report back.

EDIT: Got it. WD-40 on the connectors and they pulled right out. Don't think I broke any catches. Thanks again!

I finally found some struts on ebay at APX Auto Parts in Tabor City, NC. Brand is AMS Lift Supports, p/n 4799. They fit perfectly but do not come with new hinge pins & retainers which are recommended by the GM Factory Service Manual. FYI, OEM struts were Stabilus, p/n 15030549.

Glad it worked out, and thanks for posting the info on the lift supports. Always helps.
