Default Won't fire when cold - no codes or anything

so when it's cold and i try to start the truck at first all it would do is make clicking sounds, like click, click, click coming from under the hood when I turn the key. then on the second or third try it will turn over, fire up and die.

sometimes it will start and other times it takes a few tries to get it to turn over and actually run.

there are no codes.

also when this happens, the back glass unlatches on its own. weird.

i wanted to hear some of your opinions before i start blindly dumping money into it. I can take a few good guesses - cap, rotor, ect sensor. what do you guys think?

This can be symptomatic of a dying battery. Have you had it tested?

Make sure all the battery connections are clean and making a good connection. Definately sounds like the battery.

i was going to suggest having the starter tested, which is what it sounded like @ first, but the electrical glitches is obviously a voltage problem.

how was the load test done? it'll make a difference on the outcome.

what about the wiring between the battery & the truck? i'm refering to all of the connections coming from the battery (positive & negative).

its really weird, while trying to start the truck and while the engine is turning over (before it actually fires) the back hatch actuator produces that "unlocked" click with every revolution of the engine.

soooooooooooooo strange.
