Won't start after lower intake gaskets kit
I know there are lots of posts about this issue and I've read them all before making my own and they dont seem to be having the same issue as me so I got a 04 blazer that I replaced the lower intake gaskets on because of a coolant leak. This thing was full of stop leak and was a nightmare to clean. But anyways I went start it after words and it just would not start....I've checked that I got the dizzy in the right spot like 10 times lined up with the 6 when it is on tdc of the compression stroke.
- did a leakdown on the injectors and they seem ok
- check all the fuses etc
- everything is plugged in
I did get it to start once and it ran great no problems it ran about an hour and I even drove it around the block but when I got back home I turned it off and would not start again ....the battery terminal melted on the negative terminal don' know why but I replaced the battery and alternator anyways...I know I'm kinda all over the place but this this is just driving me nuts. It did throw a p1626 code but not sure if it is just a stored code because it did start and run great once already. If anyone has any ideas please let me know it would be much appreciated

Please elaborate. I don't understand this. When and where did something melt? Was it during extended cranking during a no-start?
I'm not sure when it happens but that' what I'm thinking yeah ....I noticed it when I went to hook up the battery charger
Oh and it was the negative termial that melted oh the battery
Make sure all your main grounds are hooked up. I've seen people leave the engine to body ground unhooked and they had some stuff heat up and melt bad. one dude had it ground out thru the fuel lines somehow.... scary
Anyhow, Did you take off the ground from the firewall to the back of the cyl. Head off to get it out of your way or anything? Maybe you left it unhooked?

Sounds like a bad connection got hot. Does the engine crank over normally now?
The P1626 has to do with a theft deterrent signal from the BCM not received by the PCM. This has definite potential to keep your vehicle from starting. Is your security light flashing? Can you clear the code and see if it comes back - or is the P1626 just in history?

check the lower crank position sensor near the crank pulley. first try cleaning the crud and grime off of it and re-install. if its bad its a cheap and easy part but it will stop your truck from starting.
also when mine went i also replaced the ignition coil and pcm as well which ironically ended up taking a dump all at the same time around 180k miles. i would check all these things and make sure you have power to the pins in the plugs etc.
hope this helps, good luck.

Well I told my buddy to take it to a shop because I got hurt at work and couldn't do anything. And they found out that it was one tooth out of time on the dizzy and they said something about having to machine the head too so it would sit right ....cost him 600$ but it's fixed.....I think he got the short end of the stick on that one and kinda feel bad but it's fixed now thanks for your help people
