Default Yet another ABS problem

I bought my 95 4 door Blazer about a year ago, and the ABS light was on. Didn't work but I didn't really care. Then about half way through summer, it turned off and my ABS worked like a charm as if the mechanic fairy came and visited me during the night. About a week ago we got our first snowfall of the season and the ABS was working great on ice. Well it's been about 5 days since the snow has melted, and last night on dry pavement I was coming to a light and when I stopped right at the end of braking the ABS kicked in. Didn't think much of it, as it didn't do it for the rest of my trip. Well today, still dry, I just got back from running some errands, every time I stopped the ABS kicked in right at the end of braking. I found an alley where there was still some ice and sure enough I slammed on my brakes and they locked right up. The light is still off as well. Is it just a dirty sensor? If it is, what do they look like and how do I clean them?

I would start with cleaning the sensors in the front wheel bearings. You will have to remove the brake rotors and then the sensor bolts on to the side of the front wheel bearing assemblies.

Could this also be a small leak in the vacuum line? No expert, just a thought. I've had the ABS go on & off and it was the sensor (bearing) that had to be replaced.

Is this a 95 or 2000? I'm thinking 95 and the sensors do not bolt on-their part of the brake dust shield up to the model year 97 and then in 98 became serviceable with a bolt on design. Doubt it's vacuum. You ought to have it scanned to pinpoint the issue or you are stabbing in the dark unless you see something obvious. Just my two cents worth and today it's on sale for free!
