Zr2 Spare carrier hinges
2004 2-Door Blazer ZR2
I need to replace the spare tire carrier on my ZR2, but, as is often the case, the bolts holding the swingout gate to the body are either frozen or spinning and I'm not aware of any way to access the nuts on the inside of the panel without tearing into the interior body. I thought about leaving the base mounts and just taking it apart from the hinges instead. I see they are fastened with C-clips on the underside of the hinges, which are easy enough to remove. The bottoms of the hinge pins/bushings seem pretty secure though. Are they pressure fit togerther? Can they just be pried apart? Or is that some kind of rivet?
