Factory Ball Joint Replacement - DISCUSSION THREAD
Ok I think I understand. I was assuming after the rivets were driven out that the joint would still be pressfit intothe control arm. Hence, requiring it to pressed out like many other axles which doesn't seem possible. I understand now that that isn't the case.
So it looks like just getting the rivets out will free it up within the lower. I think smoothing it out with flap wheel will make it easier to see the margin between the rivet and ca.
