You really should ask your question in a new post in the appropriate tech section to determine the true cause of your issue. This thread is for the discussion of the how-to article.

I will say that this isn't the fix for all 4wd problems. It does nothing to the engagement of the transfer case. It only deals with the engagement of the front axle.

Depends on what you have for a transfer case now. I would not attempt this on the 4-button NV236 transfer case. Only on the NV233(NP233) and earlier NP231/NP207 transfer cases.

i used your advise and went to napa and got the cable
just got done with the install not as bad as i thought it would be
dont have to relie on a vacuem system any more

This is nice idea,any on changeing my 94 s10 electric switch 4x4 to manual floor shift.

Great idea. What would someone expect to pay for posi from a shop? vw gti used cars beaverton

The actual Posi-Lok that's designed for these trucks has a ~$200 MSRP. I imagine a shop would charge an hour or two of labor on top of that.
