In process of getting my rear axle bearings I had to do some research to get the right ones. For me this involved calling my dealer parts guy to get GM part numbers. I thought I would pass this info along to help you guys.
My truck for comparison sake is a 2001 4x4 LT Blazer. When I called GM with the last 8 of my VIN i was told I have a 7.625 rear end with a 3.42 ratio. This is confirmed by a GU6 RPO code.
Now this is where we have to dig a little deeper
Axle codes
Code C is a 7.625 sold in the United states
Code K is a 7.625 sold in Canada
The computer system at the dealer could not differentiate this information, but it did tell us the following
Code C uses a 2.25" diameter bearing
GM part #1271606
Code K uses a 2.8" diameter bearing
GM part #124479031
So for a truck sold here state side the following is what you will need from Timken in the bearing and seal department.

5707 is the bearing
710166 is the seal
This is the Fel-Pro gasket for 7.625 rear ends
I sealed the gasket using Permatex 97.
To remove the old seals i used a Lisle seal puller

I used this to remove the bearings but i would recommend a true bearing remover

Bearing remover

When it comes time to re-install the bearings and seal you will need a couple simple drivers.
Since our bearing driver set did not have the right size I had to make my own driver, advantages of having a machine shop at school.

the seal driver is simply a piece of 2in PVC pipe, it worked perfectly

2 7/32 in diameter, just a hair smaller than the bearing itself
Clearance to allow bearing to fully seat, this was more than enough.
If anyone needs any more information about these just let me know.
If anyone has the Timken bearing and seal numbers for axle code k and the g80 rear I would gladly add them.
