Default 1997 blazer radio change

I have a original gm delco casette player that came with my vehicle right now.
Im thinking of buying a delco radio+cd from eBay (yeah casette is starting to be abit old =))

http://global.ebay.com/CHEVROLET_BLA...074156946/item

are the wireing just plug and play into the new radio/cd player or will i need to cut cables or something like that to make it work?

Ideal woul be, unoplug some connectors from the old radio and connect them to the new one and go... Anyone know?

Thanks for a great forum!

That should be a plug and play. As for Quailty there is no way to tell if they did a good job or not with out testing it. As for the ipod controls i dont know.

i would assume that the ipod connector is just a basic 1/4 inch headphone jack. so the ipod would still have to control itself but you can use any other media player with it as well. the only thing i would be concerned about is if the new unit is set up for factory amp or other add on you may not have. but i doubt that in all reality. i would get it if i were you - worse case, you order a replacement plug that you can wire into the truck for 10-20 bux and spend an hour doing it (if that long).i can even get the pin out charts for you if you were to need them but again i think it will plug right in and go.

Now i only need to start looking on howto remove the interior to get to the screws holding the current radio. Any good threads/pictures/movies about this? It will be my first change so im mostly scared i wont be able to fit it back if i take it apart :P

The main thing with the 95-97 s-series, when you take the dash bezel off, be very careful maneuvering it around your hazard switch. Especially if you don't have tilt steering. The hazard switch will break off very easy.

little hi jack here but I am puting an aftermarket unit in my 97 LS. But I have an extra wire coming from the trucks harness. Its green with a black stripe. I am assuming this is a factory amp? I plugged in all the other connecters and the CD player plays fine.

Also anyone know a good place to get a dash kit? lol the one I got from walmart said for 92 and up GM vehicles and when I got it home I noticed it was only for 2000 and up chevys. So now my dash is hanging apart and the wife is gonna be angry lol.

any car audio shop sells them it's a metra part # 99-3043 or a gray colored kit 99-3043G.
