Hi im new to the forums, but i have a problem. I have a 2002 s-10 blazer LT, and i have tried both the metra 99-2003 and 99-2001 install kits and they dont seem to be wide enough for this application. Has anyone else encountered this problem and how do i fix it? When i put the kit in the truck, the mounting holes slide between the mounting holes in the dash and the radio and kit just slide back into the dark. Thanks for your time!

the kit that you have pictured looks like it fits the other blazers that have the double din stereo. I believe years 2003-2005. so to fix that gap you would need the dash piece from those years or even many of the bravadas.
That is a newer thread with some pictures.

I had the same problem when installing the stereo in my '02. Sonic Electronix sent me the wrong kit, then best buy sold me the wrong kit, finally I went to Car Toys and they gave me the right kit. Sorry I cant find it on their website, but it shouldn't have a pocket - just one hole for the radio..

So far Ultimate Electronics has sold me 4 wrong kits, im about to give up.. and its the width that is the main problem, it fits up and down fine and i like the pocket, the kit is just not wide enough for the mounting holes and it slides down into the back with the mounting tabs attached and everything.

the wiring you just match the colors on the wiring kit to the colors on the stereo wiring, also you say you got a kit to fit, what kit number did you purchase?

its not held in there, it slides side to side when i turn corners and such because the mounting holes in the kits are not wide enough to screw into the dash.

I dug around and found that I'm using the Scosche GM1500B dash kit. As far as I know, this is the only kit that works on the '02 blazers unless you have the double DIN stock radio, then you would get to keep the pocket
