Default 2003 LS RDS HU headache

Hello All,
I've looked at 90% of the audio sections and can't find an aftermarket touchscreen HU (DVD playback) that will fit my dash like Mr GM installed himself..I see a lot of hack jobs but nothing that really looks factory...now that being said. Can anyone post pics of their good looking HU? Is my dash a double din or 1.5 din? I know there is one person out there that is just as **** I am about this and has done it correctly...Show me what you got, please. Thank you looking. Tony.

Unless you can get a dash bezel from a year that actually had the double din you're stuck having to modify and repair your dash to look good again. It can be done and look factory, it really can, but it takes work and time to look that way. I'm still in the process of getting mine finished or I'd show you mine. I'll see if I can find a few examples.

In the meantime just understand that some work, a little imagination, a little patience and some fiberglass can go a very long way.

2003 would be a double din sized radio slot. I believe the change from 1.5 to 2 din started in 03 with the Blazer and Jimmy, but I could be wrong about that.

There's plenty of dash install kits out there for them. I have one (or rather "had" since I went back to a single din because I didn't like the way my 2 din radio functioned...) in my 04 which has the 2 din size opening, looks great. I wouldn't say "factory", but looks good lol

It's the earlier (98-02) that have the 1.5 din opening

In the picture below, the top one is the later model with the 2 din size and the lower is the earlier with the 1.5 din size
