sound is produced by moving air, the more air you move the louder it is.

no but it deffinatly has more potential.......more cone area=more sound produced=louder

enclosure engineering comes into play a lot more than the size of the sub. A master installer friend of mine built an enclosure for a single JL 6W0 (6" sub) that hit 138 at the dash legally. thats friggin loud for a 6" sub!
I dont see any justification in paying a huge amount of money for big rims. I mean what do you really get outta them? oooo's and aaaaa's from ppl on the street?
