Its not that hard really just a PITA. Take off the hanger hook thing. Then take off the "oh ****" bars. Next is the top seat belt bolt. then pull that WHOLE panel down from the top while pulling up at the same time. Watch the rear window arms cuz the get in the way. I forget if its easier to open them. Then you have all the room you need to get a the speakers.

you have to half open the rear half windows. if you open it all the way, the handle is in the way, closed, the handle is in the way. its a PITA.
the only way i would take out the panels was with the seats out because you can finagle (yes finagle) panels out a lot easier

that will probably be what i do, since my drivers side rear seat wont fold down and i need to fix that so taking the seats out should make it easier, are they hard to get out?

not really, to get the bolts out in the front i had to half fold the seat but only because i only have extended sockets
