hmm thats weird w/ them not fitting the rear. 6.5"s r pretty universal but ya i would do like lennyblazer said and line up as many as u can and drill holes for the rest. just be careful when drilling so u dont wreck anything.

 

You should be able to get 3 out of 4 holes without any modifications...

My fronts were like that...

unbelievable, this **** drives me crazy. im bought ready to smash something. anyways whats with the crappy plastic housingfor the rear speakers? and the mounting surface is not that wide for that. i tryed lining them up and yea they would have been crooked if i did it that way. so im screwed pretty much.

haha been there done that. wow didnt know the 2nd gens were that bad lol my 1st gen was easy.

 

It doesnt matter if its crooked (off by some angle, they will still play and when you put the door cover back on they will be covered anyhow), just have to make sure they are flush with the mounting surface. Unfortunately I don't have pictures, it wasnt a big deal when I did it myself. So I am not sure why you are having such a problem. Did the speakers you get happen to be Ford-Mazada specific mounts? Cause that could be causing some of your grief.

 

I have the same speakers in my dash. I love them. My dash mat covers the uneveness of the speaker cover. Dash mats are a must in AZ. The sun will crack your dash.

 

well i like clean installs thats all. many ppl tell me that i have OCD, it has to be perfect in my eyes and if not it eats at me the whole time. thats my problem. na i bought the ones that crutchfield said would fit the blazer, but now i read that i need brackets, go figure. yea lets say something will fit but then you have to buy something else to make it work.

 

haha ya ik how that goes. i'm a perfectionist but i've learned to make things work and deal w/ them.

 

Get someone else to put them in when you're not looking
