Default 6-Speaker System Questions

Hello,

I have a quick question about the speaker setup for a 1997 Bravada with an aftermarket Sony headunit. The tweeters on the dash are blown out; I removed the two "regular" dash speakers from my 1997 S10 (4-speaker system) to install into the Bravada. Will the wiring for the tweeters allow enough power through for "regular" plate speakers to be used?

Thanks,
Nick

So I installed the speakers and they work fine in the dash, but I don't have any door speakers working. After checking them, they are all there (4 x Polk db651s) but after disconnecting the wiring to them and testing with a set of Pioneer speakers I have, I get nothing. All the wires are connected to the head unit, an Alpine CDE-9843, and I even tried hooking up my old Panasonic head unit. I am guessing the previous owner had an amplifier hooked up to drive the 4 door-mounted speakers and left the tweeters connected to the head unit to be powered.

How can I track down where the amp would've been? I'd like to either put a cheap amp in it's place or just bring the speaker wires back to the head unit...

Any suggestions?

Nick

a normal place for a amp mount would b on the back of the back seats... i would check under the carpet under the backs of the seats or even in the wheel wells for the wires... and if they r not that u will have to just run new wires to all ur speakers

I'll check for the speaker wires around those places. Where are the wires routed for the rear door speakers? I know the front door speakers run through the rubber door passage then behind the dash, but whats the best way to run the rear door speakers?
