Default 97 Chevy Blazer Stereo Wiring

Have a 97 Chevy Blazer. Installing Pioneer DEH-P5200Hd. Cannot for the life of me figure out power wiring from stereo harness to car speaker harness. Have read to connect car orange to stereo yellow and car yellow to stereo red, not powereing the unit on.

Any suggestions?

I installed a Pioneer in my 97 a month or so ago. I'll see if I can round up the diagram that came with it.

*update*

I didn't use the orange wire on mine. I used a wiring harness adapter and every wire matched up color for color, except those that I didn't need. Yellow went to yellow, red went to red, etc...

Welcome to the forum, btw

you are better off buying a wire harness adapter and not hack up yours factory wires.. but if u want to not spend the 7 bux and do it right this will help
For Blazers and S-10s (including Bravada, Sonoma, Jimmy, Full-Size) the actual stereo wiring is as follows Constant 12V+ Orange
Switched 12V+ Yellow
Ground Black
Illumination Gray
Dimmer Brown
Antenna Trigger Pink
Antenna Right Front
Front Speakers 4" x 6" Dash
Left Front (+) Tan
Left Front (-) Gray
Right Front (+) Light Green
Right Front (-) Dark Green
Rear Speakers 6" x 9" Side Panels
Left Rear (+) Brown
Left Rear (-) Yellow
Right Rear (+) Dark Blue
Right Rear (-) Light Blue

Thanks. I do have the stereo harness. And have tried connecting color to color (red to red, yellow to yellow). Still not working. Now I am thinking there is a deeper electrical issue. I've noticed that the overhead (temp, compass) display is out, as are the two spotlights up there. As well, the rear wiper control is not working.

Should I be checking fuses?

I happen to have that same headunit still in its box, waiting to go into my '99 Safari. It mentions something in the Operation Manual....that you have to hit the reset button behind the front panel prior to using the headunit for the first time after installation.

Have you done that?

Also, it has a 10 amp fuse on the back of it....if fuse #13 was blown, is it possible you also blew its fuse?

On this, constant 12v is yellow, switched 12v is Red. So yellow on unit > orange in vehicle and red on unit > yellow on vehicle, just as you posted in your first post.

Thanks for the input!

Checked the fuse on the back of the stereo head, its fine. Also tried pushing that reset button after install, still no dice.

I am at a loss. Might need to bring this one to the Pro's.
