Default Adding 2 12'' L7's?

I currently have 2 10'' kicker l7s that are only a few months old. I dont want to get rid of them or sell them but i want bigger and louder. I was thinking of adding 2 12'' L7s to my blazer. I run a Hifonics BRZ1700 at 2 ohm to power my 10s. I was thinking if adding a second BRZ1700 to run a 1 ohm (1700rms) to power the 12s.

Was thinking about something like this..
http://www.audiosavings.com/products...D---XK4B1.aspx
Ive bought from them before so i know they are good.

A couple questions come in mind.

1. Other than the big 3, would i need a second battery?

2. Any idea how to place 2 10s and 2 12s to look decent and have some cargo space left?

3. Can i just get a splitter for the RCA's off my old amp to run too the new one?

4. Im not set on the amp yet so im open minded for any others in the same price range.

Thanks

ok, well first off the amps. on almost all 2 channel and mono blocks they have input and out put RCA ports. this means you can just get signal from amp to amp to amp and not worry about crappy splitters.

with the subs, why do you want to run both? if you run a 10 and a 12, they will hit at different times and just sound muddy as heck. but, if you want to be loud and obnoxious like a lot of us, go for it.

you will need to upgrade a lot of stuff to run those amps at full tilt though.

you plan on running 2900 watts through your truck, you will need power on tap at all times.

those amps will pull 320 amps from your car according to hifonics. that means your 105 amp alternator has no chance at giving them the clean power they will need. you'll need a heck of a high output alternator and a dual battery setup. so, to run both, you're looking at a heck of a lot of money to be spent on something that will sound really really loud but not clear.

well if that doesn't help, which i don't think it'll do that much but, you will probably need a bigger alternator.

i'll be running 1300 watts and am going to do an upgrade to the ad244 which is a little more expensive that our stock, and puts out 130 amps which is only 25 more than stock buts its all i need because my amplifiers don't pull much amperage

Default Here's my new setup

I just got 2 15" L7's bridged to 1 ohm running 2200W RMS to each sub. I have an MA audio 4400W amp. My voltage stays around 12 with them turned up pretty loud. : )

12 volts isn't necessarily a good thing for long term life of an amplifier that isn't designed for that power level. i have no experience with MA audio amps so i don't know their specs.

i'm surprised you haven't had to replace anything rob44. do you have stock battery, alternator and such?

I just installed them last week. I plan on replacing the alternator with a better one when it finally goes (hopefully not soon). I do have a new battery. And I'm gonna do the big 3 in the next week or so with probably 4 gauge wire, unless I find some cheap 0 gauge.

Well, that's probably a good idea haha. In my head, if a car is meant to be running at 14 volts, it should be run at 14 volts. The whole 12 volt thing is not good for the longevity of the charging system.
