Default Aftermarket Radio Install

I recently had a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/DVD/Nav unit installed in my 04 Blazer. Best Buy did it, and it looks great, etc. Problem I'm having is that it only powers on when the switch is in the run position. Won't work in the Acc position. Does anyone know which wires they failed to connect.

BTW, I did buy the kit from BB that interfaces with the chimes, etc.

Sounds fishy to me. My lil brother has an 04 Trailblazer that has a JVC unit in it with a PAC chime interface and his works fine on ACC, of course the truck is a bit different. Everything should be plug and play on that stuff though and if it's not working properly (as in your case) it's probably not wired properly.

Best Buy stores in general DO NOT get a vote of confidence from me in their ability to properly do car audio installation and especially system design and setup. It's hard to say for sure what they did, but it sounds like they ran a separate wire for the switched power wire instead of using the one in the stock harness. If that's the case I would HATE to imagine what else they took liberty with doing on their own.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I am not accustom to such. On a couple of motorcycle forums I frequent, I can ask a question and a week later it hasn't been viewed.

I am afraid they took liberties as well. I was a little leary of breaking all the little clips on the dash surround (or what ever it is called) but I'm afraid I will have to chance it.

Thanks again.

Looks like you might have to take a look yourself, or go back to BB and complain... I'd take it a part, take pictures, then go back and try to get a refund for their installation job.

If all the wires on the wiring harness were used, then it should work on ACC.

Thanks. When I get off tomorrow I have a couple of days off. I hope to take care of this, along with building a box for a sub.

What sub are you building a box for? Do you have one designed already, or using the manufacturer specs?
