Alpine deck
After looking at the owners manual... It doesn't appear to be an MP3 deck, so if you're making MP3 discs, it's definitely not going to work...
The 7844 seems to be a pretty old deck.
For regular music discs, burn at the slowest speed possible for the best quality.

By "type" of discs i meant brand of disc, sorry.
I ask because people on other audio forums have had trouble trying to play certain burned disk brands on that receiver you have (like Sony for example) and is something you have to think about on any older CD player. I have had trouble trying to play burned discs made by Sony, TDK, and Maxell on most older CD players, car and home. I try to use Memorex cuz their discs seem to work the best with older CD players. If I were in your shoes though I would justupgrade to a newer used deck.
