well it looks like that head unit was discontinued? That is a little expensive for an amp imo if you are looking for cheaper stuff. best place to look for amps is ebay. for the head unit and woofers check out crutchfield.com. if you buy a head unit from them they send you everything you need for the install for free. the also have pretty good deals on the wiring kits for your amp. you said you were looking for pretty good base I'm guessing you listen to rap? ported boxes are better for that if you want a lot of bass. I have a 200 watt infinity and it pounds hard for 200 watts. I have it turned down really low most of the time... from experience I think 1 woofer sounds better than 2 especially if you actually listen to music instead of just trunk thumping. 1 good woofer is better than 2 kinda crappy ones. don't be fooled by the max power because woofers and amps will never put out that much power. always look for rms power. I'd recommend staying away from "walmart brands" such as sony and dual. yes sony makes crappy car audio. That JVC looked like a pretty nice woofer just remember you match the rms power with the amp and not the max power. The amp you had would work but it wouldn't power the woofer to its full potential its only 200 watts rms bridged. if you are thinking about running 2 woofers then that amp would not be near the power you need. not really sure what you know and don't know so if you have any specific questions I can probably help you out

i got all my audio stuff from amazon so I would look around there. Also is there a reason that everything your looking at is just one brand?

You will be underpowering the subs. The amp is 100 watts RMS but the subs are 350 watts RMS each. I don't know too incredibly much about sound systems but the little bit I do know is that a good sound system is like a recipe. Everything needs to be perfect and work together for it to sound right.

Some good, succinct info in this thread: CLICK

ok so I already have the head unit from awhile ago, I was just wondering if it was decent to power a sound system....I'm an amateur at this if you couldn't tell haha!

so any way some people recommended alpine 12 type s

so which one's better...

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sws-1243d/

or

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sws-1223d/

and if I get those, what amp should I get to power them?

not too worried about enclosure because my dad's friend builds them...next time I see him I'll be asking his opinion too, but every bit of help is useful so thank you all

Get the dual 4 ohm(The first one of the two), and run them so they are wired at 2 ohms and get the mrp-m500 amp
