Default Amp rack placement...

So, I've searched the forum, and haven't found much on where people are mounting their amps. I'm looking for creative ideas that allow me to keep as much of the storage space as possible and look clean and stealth. I'm not looking for showy. I'll likely end up glassing in something to the passenger side of the back this spring when I'm out of school, but was wondering if anyone had any creative placements, since I'm in the planning stage for the moment.

ive done setups in blazers, where they were flushed into a beefed up headliner, made a sliding drawer under the box.

take off some of ypur side panels and see which ones have a bit of depth behind them. Glass them there.

or you can always get smaller amps and fit them under your seats.

I'm currently a student, so there's not a lot of disposable cash right now. I have a fair bit of equipment that I collected while I was installing. I have 2 10" Kicker L7s, several sets of components, a MA Audio sub amb, and an old school Rockford 360.6 amp to run the mids and highs. I have a couple of shallow 8" subs that I'm going to fab into the front doors, and make Kicks for a set of components. I think what I'll end up doing is pulling the panel on the passenger side in the rear and making a sub box/amp rack there to keep as much functional space as possible. I was just wondering if anyone else had any creative ideas beyond the amp on the back of the seat and square MDF box.

HillBilly, I've thought about doing a headliner install. The idea intrigues me, but I'm worried about the weight of my amps. They are both pretty hefty, and I do a fair bit of off-roading, so I'm worried about shaking them loose. What have you used to secure the rack to the roof?

This is where I mounted my amp.
right on the outside of the compartment where the jack goes

You can drill holes right through it, and run the wires right through the holes
and over the wheel well and then behind the back row of seats, through
the door jams on the passenger side and all the way up to the hole
in the floorboard at the passengers feet, and then you can wrap the wires super good with heat tape
and run them through the area where the headers are and up to your battery..

lol, not that you needed to know all of that, but... ohh well hahahahahah

Its a really good place, and makes it look clean, though, you need the small amps like me.
Its amazing how that tiny amp putts out so much power

(The only wires in plain view are the ones that run to the subs themselves)

I would just put them under the rear seats if they will fit otherwise make a mount to hold them off to the side in the rear!!

Yeah I thought about putting mine under the seats, But when you fold them down,
I am pretty sure that the seats would squish the amp. And.. I didnt think that it
would have been worth breaking it.

So thats where I mounted mine.

Good luck with yours man

headliner amp racks should only be used with amps that give off VERY LITTEL heat. Most amps, mounting them upsideown, will shorten their lifespan.
