if you have a test light and you are playing around in a car, throw it away!! can blow airbags and all kinds of funky stuff. go to walmart and get a DMM for 25 bucks, or I can sell you my brand new craftsman for 30 bucks plus shipping. Check your ground wire and remote wire.

Try the remote line. Cause it seems like its not getting the 12v signal telling the amp that it needs to power up.
If thats not it post abck up and I'll let ya know a more complicated option

OK, I hooked up my "DMM" to all my connections, everything is getting power. So, I have full power in to the amp, the amp's external fuses are good, so it has to be inside the amp. I'm gonna remove the shell here in a bit...isn't there a small fuse on the inside?
not sure if your amp has em on the inside also. I know all of mine are internal. Check for burnt MOSFET's or just anythign that looks toasted inside.
EDIT:
Make things easier! Do you have a spare amp lyin around? Like a small one or an older one that works. If so wire that up real quick and see if they bump at all. If they do ur amps toasted.

That's the problem...the amp has maybe a year of use on it...but I bought it 3+ years ago...no warranty.
2 chanel, Kenwood KAC 81010. I tried hooking up my old amp, and it wouldn't come on either. I'm stumped.
When I tested it on the remote and ground, I got 12v. When I tested it power and ground, I got 1v. What does that mean?
