Audio/Video Electronics Wired up? If you have some sort of A/V modification let's hear about it here. Discussion of stock electrical problems should be done in the 'Lighting & Electrical' section.

Any suggestions?

Default Any suggestions?

Well, I'm finally catching up and getting all my necessary mods done. Now I'd like some better speakers. I'd like to spend up to $150 for at least the dash and front. If I can get the rears for that, it would be a bonus, but not necessary. Mainly I'm looking for more bass than stock, but I don't want a sub. I also don't know if I should replace the tweeters with 4x6's or stick with tweeters? Are there really any benefits to this? Thanks for all opinions and any help.

Steve

IMHO I think utilizing 4x6's on the dash is a bad idea, but my opinion differs from many others. Either way you should check out THIS sale on some Aura speakers. Aura isn't a widely known name, but those who do know them know the equipment they build is very nice and of great build quality. They have 4x6's, 6x9's, 6.5" coax's and components and many more sizes on sale, including some amps. No matter what you decide to get I would highly suggest running them with an amp of some sort and installing at least a little sound deadening. The difference's all that makes on how good the overall sound is after all that work is beyond a night and day difference. Easily worth the extra money, time and effort.

if you want more bass than stock, invest in sound dampening. That alone will improve any stock speakers. hell, it might even impress you and you might not want to upgrade the speakers at all.

Alright, so I'll throw in some sound deadening after I get the speakers (I'm set on throwing money into speakers ) And after looking around and hearing some other opinions outside this site, It looks like I'll be installing an amp and 10 inch sub also.

Now that I have my outlook revised a little...how about some speakers, an amp and sub for less than 350.

I have no idea. Honestly I know nothing about this, so I'll probably take it somewhere to have it done and done right. Whatever you guys recommend that wont cost me two weeks worth of paychecks will probably end up in there.
