i know what thy bypass is for, but what actual bypass did they use??? does the security light only come on with remote start then key./ or does it come on with key only?

Find out what bypass they used, sounds like they used the relay method - which to me is unreliable.

let me know. look at the bundle of wires at the ignition harness. you will see some larger gauge wires tapped into there, look for the smaller wires that have been tied into at the ignition switch

They used a astroflex 5560, as a bypass.

Not to but in on this conversation, but what would be a good price for a decent long lasting everything will work remote start system installed. There is an electronics place where I go to school that is an audio/automobile electronics store that advertises $170 for the system and installation. I am looking into this since it would be a nice feature to have at the ski hill and before heading to school for classes (as I am on the third floor of my apartment and dont want to run down all the time). Thanks for your help HillbillyinOhio.

really depends on the unit they are selling, and if they solder their connections or use t-taps.

My guess is it wont be 170 installed for very long. Depending on the unit, they have to add relays for locks, hatch release and you need a bypass for the factory security system. Call them, ask them what model, if there is a charge for relays for locks etc, and what bypass they use and the cost of it. then PM me those answers and we will figure out your best course of action.
