best way to wire 2 12" Alpine Type R's & Mrp-m1000
#1
What up guys!
I was at the pawn shop after i washed my truck and saw a guy bringing in his system, so i checked it out and it was exactly what i was looking for. 2 12" Alpine Type R's (swr-1242d) and a Alpine (Mrp-m1000) amp. So after the shop told him what they would give him for it i offered him $30 more and he took it.
Man the pawn shop guy was pissed.
Anyways i have searched alot and thought i would just check here before i install them.
Is this the best way to wire them, for the most power?

it al depends on how much power (RMS) they can safely handle. (not too framiliar with the Alpine products)
while my PG amp wasn't a mono amp, i had my two 12W6's wired up for 1 ohm, and they never even blinked @ it. but the amp sure did "sweat" under high load/volume conditions.

Says that those subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils. So you will have to do it this way.

The other option is to wire them down to 1Ω, but that amp could be damaged and I would not recommend it. Wire it to 4Ω's, if that's not enough for you then you would need to upgrade to a new amp.

Subs are 1800w 600w rms and the amp is 1000w rms.
So is this the best way to wire them?

no current alpine amp is 1 ohm stable, that i know of. so your best option would be 2 ohms to get the 1000 watts but it looks like your screwed and theyll only get less than 250 each.

I traded for a hifonics hfi1000d, ran it to 1 ohm and now my **** bangs! Im gonna wait till i have a little more money and get another hifonics amp prolly the same one and run them both on 2 ohm witch would put them both at about 750 rms or just a little lower.

I got lucky getting the new ones, they handle 600w rms. I fugure if i run my hifonics amps at 2 ohm, 750w rms that would be perfect and i'd get the most i can out of the type r's.
