I hope you will use actual sub wire, and not a orange power cord. (seen it done so many times, its bad).

anyways, the big 3 is simple. you use some 4 gauge (or bigger). Run it from the + side of the battery to the alternator (follow the old wire, leave it connected as it doesnt hurt anything)

Then grind you a nice shiny spot on the frame. or find a bolt, remove it,make the frame shiny under it and use it. But use some self tapping screws to secure the new ground from the battery to the frame. THEN replace the small ground wire from the battery to the motor.

there u go.

I see it all the time at the pull it yards,il pick up extra wire etc if i see it, and i see cord all the time being used. just stupid. You spend lots of money on subs, and you cheap out on what feeds it and risks major problems.

Yeah there are some not so smart people out there!! I am ordering the wire and terminals on ebay right now and I found enough 0 gauge wire and the terminals all for $33.95 shipped. Thats so cheap I don't understand why people don't just do things right?????

Its just lazy is what it is.
I have seen so many people wire things wrong, not use inline fuses at the battery, and their car starts on fire. I think spending the little extra money it costs to not have to buy a new car from a fire.

Since we are on stereo subject, I know the rear doors on my jimmy have 6.5" speakers. Can that be modified to put a 6x9? or would I be opening up a can of worms?
