Default buring smell? but tempory

i have a boss 1700w amp 2 channel, and two cheap pionner 12's, every time i really put the sytem up loud i get this buring like smell kind of like a match but it only last for a min of so, i also have eclisp 3-way 200w rms speakers(x4) and a jenen vm9414(or something)(dvd player, nav, etc)

anyone know what this smell is ?

well the subs are rated at 800w max and amp only gives out about 700-750wmax so i dont think thats the problem, mabe its the stock wirining on the four speakers thats just getting to much "juice"?

the pull on that amp couldnt be that much to burn up wiring....but anything is possible. turn it on one time and sniff around to try and find where its the strongest

wiring wont make any difference. Just for kicks, tell me the position on the dial for the gain on the amp.

you could be burning up your amp, i burned up a directed 750D and all you could smell was that awful match smell. turn it up loud one time and feel if your amp is getting warm, if it is, you might want to decide to get an inercooler for your amp.
