Default CB's anyone?

i was just wondering if anyone had put a cb in the tape deck slot, and i was wondering if it would work with the stock mount or if i would have to modify it. also, is that a true one din slot? i have a '00 jimmy if that makes a difference.

hmm... that was going to be one of my down the road projects...
I looked at a few low-end CBs (under $70) and just eyeballing them, determined that most would fit in my tape deck slot as far as size goes.
I can't comment on the fit-to-mount piece as I have not done this yet, BUT as long as you can get it in, slipping a bolt into the side far enough to hold it in place sould work fine even if you have to bridge a little more gap than a CB specific mount. I was going to use an old mouse pad to soak up the up-and-down space and cushion the CB a bit.

As far as the wires go, i was just going to probe at them in the hopes that I can wire the CB in with out burning my truck to the ground... tape deck wiring diagrams have been tough to come by.
