Default Custom 10" Box for 2001 2 Dr

Long time Blazer Forum reader... first time poster.

I was looking to upgrade the audio on my 2001 2 Door, so I picked up a 10" Kicker CompVR, but I couldn't find a pre-fab box that would leave me enough room in my cargo for storage. I decided to make one that fit over the wheel well and allowed for a decent amount of storage room between the box and the spare. It turned out really well for a first time box builder so I thought I would post some pics from the build process and see what you guys think.

The system sounds awesome... the box is about 1.5 cuft, just enough for a solid response that hits hard but still has great low end sound, powered by an Alpine 500W rms monoblock and filled with fiberglass insulation. Also upgraded the 6.5s and 6x9s and added an Alpine 300W rms 4 channel (Both seem to be great amps). The amps fit nicely in both of the little storage bins beside the rear seats, but I had them in the rear floor boards in the pics for testing and tuning.

Looks good man. I want to do something similar just on a much smaller scale, kinda like the JL stealth box.

I too have something similar planned. But I think I will be going with glass for the back. That should allow me to use 100% of the space and produce a slightly smaller footprint. I'm really liking that speaker grill.

very nice, especially for a 1st build. I havent had cargo space since i bought my jimmy, nearly 6 years ago now, forgot what its like. i pretty much drive a weird looking 2 door car with a wicked big v6 lol

your amps dont get too hot in those glove box things? not that my 1500d has a chance of fitting

Looks awesome! I wan't to do something a lot like that but with a 12" to replace my two 10's. Do you have any rough dimensions of the box to give me an idea of how much wood to buy? Thanks!

I know yall have the cubby things but those amps look to be in the floorboards behind the front seats/ infront of the rear seats
