4x6 plates will normally fit with little or no trimming.

You will never get a straight answer on which ones sound the best, everyone has their own opinion on speakers.

Crutchfield has all the answers for you.

4 Door Models 1998+ : 6.5" circle speakers front and rear doors, 4"x6" plate speakers (shallow mounting depth) for the Dash or 1" tweeters fit well in the stock locations

As for what sounds the best, that is a touchy subject and very open for debate. My idea would be to go to the store and listen to all the speakers you are looking at and go from there. Personally I like Pioneer and thats what I have in the front and rear doors. But I have Kenwood subs and got a steal on dome 4x6" dash speakers from a local vendor made by eclipse which I think sound really good. Its all personal choice and how much you are willing to spend. Good Luck with you speaker purchase(s).

just get some 4" components. You will have to make custom mounting plates but it will sound much better than an oval speaker.
