Audio/Video Electronics Wired up? If you have some sort of A/V modification let's hear about it here. Discussion of stock electrical problems should be done in the 'Lighting & Electrical' section.

So I'm gonna be putting in an alpine type-r 12" amp powered by an alpine 500w mono amp. Do I need some sort of capacitor or something?

Hey thanks for all the replies! So my 10" type r is running from my 500 mono. I bought a single sub fosgate wiring kit from best buy. It should all hook right in. I have 6.5 alpine type s speakers in the doors, I just screwed them into the stock holes, tight squeeze but there in there. They are running right from the stock wires. The type r speakers I think need extra power. So I got the type s that can be directly connected and perform at its best. I have not had a single problem with the speakers since the install and it has been 5 months already!

This is the deck I have.

no... capacitors suck. they strain your alternator. Read This : https://blazerforum.com/forum/audio-video-electronics-8/why-you-dont-need-capacitor-26541/

Going to order that exact deck, is that a trim kit you used around it or did you make that yourself?

the CDA-105 is the new 2009 model alpine, put one in my 96 and couldn't be happier. It has a USB connection built in so you can use a ipod with a USB cable, thumb drive, several other options. MSRP is 199.99, but you could get it cheaper online(ebay or maybe crutchfield)
