Default delaying a relay

I have a headlight relay for my quad light setup that sometimes picks up enough voltage to kick in the relay for a second, but when the voltage drops back to 6v in the drl system the relay will stay open since the voltage doesnt drop low enough. Is there anything I can wire in to the highbeam + wire which is the control wire to prevent the relay from opening during that surge at drl start.

Default RE: delaying a relay

You cannot switch a 12V relay with 6V signal... You need to do something to supply the relay with 12V power. Whether that is to find the DRL control module and pull the high beam trigger from the input to the DRL module or something else creative. There is something that triggers the highs to 12V... You certainly cannot keep the trigger wire for the relay from the high beam power wire at the lights.

Ok I made it so my relay is now also switched by a toggle. So when the toggle is off my lights are stock, when its on I have no DRL but have quad beam highs. Thanks for the help.
