Default Distorsion

Why is it that I have polk speakers that can handle up to 100rms and 300 peak. I then have a 4 channel amp putting out 90 rms x 4. When I turn the volume up almost all the way I get distorsion in the speakers a little.

As for noise, anyone recommend noise filters?

I do, but turn your gain down you might make that distortion disappear. That and put bass blockers on your highs.

sounds like a gain issue to me. That, and the higher you turn the volume on a deck, the more distorted the sound will be. This is a blanket statement ofcourse, but for most retail decks its true.

If your deck has the option for it, turn off the built in amp, and that should get you a little bit of a cleaner output.
