So i installed my new pioneer head unit and now my side door speakers sound like crap..

So im guessing its because of the watts the new hd is putting out?

Its the only thing i can think of..

Im replacing the fronts today.

Hope it helps..

are you powering the speakers directly off the head unit?

if you never hooked up an external amplifier to the speakers, they are being run off the head unit

^Really? You sure he might not have a hidden JL audio 300.1 amp crammed into that pioneer headunit that wasn't mentioned on the box... just jokin'

Really though, what's the EQ settings on the new cd player set at? I know in my mom's Focus the door speakers get distorted real quick with hardly any bass at all, since I installed the new Clairion headunit. I'll have to think on this one for a minute.

^ a) there is no jl 300.1 and b) you're a smart a**.

I have my speakers crossed so they never extend below 100 hz, that's subject to change when I install the new ones but at that cross point I only get distortion at high volumes like 54 out of 62 or higher
