dOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE STOCK DELCO CD HEAD UNIT HAS PRE-AMPS? I HAVE THE REDUNDANT STEERING WHEEL RADIO CONTROLS AND DON'T NECESSARILY WANT TO CHANGE THE HEAD UNIT, BUT I WANNA HOOK UP MY SUB AND AMP.

No, there are no additional outputs from the stock head unit.

 

Ooops...Is there any way to wire up an amp w/out them? Maybe splice some rca's into the rear speakers? Or not a good idea?

 

You would need a line out converter (I think that is what it is called)...

Doesn't sound as good, apparently, but you can use the High Input connections on your amp... It's made to be wired into the speaker lines.... If your amp has it.

 

I couldn't find a high input plug for my amp...it has the high input on the amp, just can't find it anywhere. I ended up buying a line out converter.. to my surprise they had it at Wal-Mart. hookin it up soon....maybe later today

 

I use an Audio Control 3.1. I've got the line level in from the fronts. 3.1 runs a JBL Cs 200.1 and a a/d/s P440. Everything works great except I just blew the front speakers. The 3.1 is nice due to it being a line driver, EQ, and line converter all in one.

Another option would be to buy a deck that can use a module that lets you use the steering wheel controls, Alpine sells this option.
