Alright guys. This is possibly one of my most stupid questions but its serious. Right now I am running a temp system till the sponsor gets me the new stuff. but its just 1 kicker comp C12 12" woofer in a sealed Prefab enclosure. Now I know ported is louder and all. Is there anyway to make this box into a ported? Like drill a circle and put a aero or something on it to make it louder cause its WAY to quiet for me! lol

 

that will work. just make sure you adjust everything as you should. use a calc to find the length for the port for that box. otherwise you wont get anything out of it.

 

basically, it will work, but remember about port displacement and all that stuff, cause you won't be happy with sound if you just port it without all the exact specs. besides which, ported boxes are bigger than sealed enclosures, so i would spend 30 bucks and build one. Don't be a sissy Jon, get your hands dirty.

if you want a slot port. you had mentioned the aero add so i didnt think you were going there. a slot port box would be bigger than a tube ported box. how temp you tlkin?

 

maybe a week and a half tops. I've heard Aero ports are alot of work so u know simple ways rock

 

there is no such thing as a simple port. everything needs to be exaxt or it sounds off. i would say just put up with it for another week or two and pump in the good stuff. use the time to biuld your box for the new additions

 

yargh. it just needs to be louder! lol. I might just take a stab at it get more experience at building ported boxes. Last time it didnt go so well lol

 

the last one i made didnt turn out to bad, except i had ported it at 32 hz and nothing hits that low. but when it did, OMG. i had on RF punch 2 10" hitting at mid 120's. it was great.
