Default fire wall help

hey i plan to hook up my amp this weekend with my sub and i heard that you can get through the firewall where the stock antenna goes through. i found where it goes through but i can find it from the engine compartment. the antenna wire seems to run under my air conditioning unit thats up against the firewall. do i need to remove the black outer shell? it seems the wire runs down under it and i cant figure out how i could run a wire through there? thanks in advance for the help!

Couldn't comment on that particular spot, but on my Jimmy there is an AUX wire (probably 12 gauge) that goes through the firewall at the same place as the steering shaft. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look under the steering column and follow the shaft that connects to the steering wheel back to the firewall, that's the spot I'm talking about. Good luck and enjoy your system!

you will probably have to take and just run that wire through, and then you will see it in the engine compartment. comes through low, back pass side of engine.

exactly what hillbilly said, sometimes you just have to poke the wire through and then you will see it. its a good place to run the wire through
