I just bought a 2000 chevy blazer 4 door as my winter/dd i have a 1994 Camaro as my summer car. I am looking for any good recommendations on a sound system/subs for the blazer im thinking something along the lines off two 12s but i don't know what size or brand to get that wont make the back of the blazer look to big. Any help is apriciated.

Nick,
I'm guessing you probably don't want to put more then one amp in your blazer. here is my suggestion: replace the two pair of door speakers and the pair of speakers above your dash with Pioneer three ways. They are a huge upgrade from the stock speakers and will brighten the sound greatly. The door speaker size are 6.5's and the ones above the dash are 4X6's. Replacing your headunit is key. Pretty much any aftermarket headunit will do if you are just looking for a n upgrade frpm your stock system. I suggest either pioneer or sony. They are cheap yet reliable and come with a year warranty. As for your subs. it all really depends on how much money you want to spend. For a clean system i suggest either JL, Memphis, Kicker, or Rockford Fosgate subwoofers. I would suggest the same brands for AMPs. However, they are pretty expensive. For a descent sytem i suggest either pioneers or sony. Same for the amps.

okay i found a Kenwood head unit on craigslist is this a good one? http://saginaw.craigslist.org/ele/1333561347.html I also got a really good deal on some pioneer 6.5 door speakers there just some 150w there normaly $60 at the store and i paid $15.

I am pretty knowledgeable with car audio brand and ratings and specifications. Im just trying to figure out what other people are running without spending more than the car is worth, and if anyone has a setup that just sounds perfect and looks right and just is perfect for the blazer like for instance i dont think like one 10 in a small box with a 300w amp would be good in a blazer. Im just trying to find the right system for it.

Thanks again for your help.

Telling you from experience, one of the best sounding setups I had in my blazer, before I went back to all SPL was my Stereo Integrity Mag 15. I ran that on a Sundown Audio 1000w amp in a t-line box and it sounded amazing

That headunit will work. Its not a top model/brand by any means. But it will give you more control over your treble and bass as far as your speakers go and that is definately what you want. The pioneer speakers are good to. They will do well running off of deck power alone. as far as your subwoofers, alot of it also depends on what you're going for. I have an old school Sony 1600 watt amp powering two 13.5 JL W3's in my 2004 four door Blazer. It hits like there is no tomorrow! However, the box takes up the entire back of the truck. So, based on your price range and what you're going for as far how much bass you want is the key.

i don't mind if the box is big i know how to build them and i have all the tools. And as far as the loudness goes the louder the better but i also like being able to turn it down and just listen to it. I've heard that thoughs 13.5 jl"s are a really good sub.

that 100 amp fuse box she talks about is actually a circuit breaker. They can be dangerous though. Its a decent price but I would do away with the circuit breaker and do an inline fuse
