it turned out to be another good day for all of us w/ team audioworks. everybody one thier classes but i had to take 2nd in my amatur street 2 class because for some reason i am having such a voltage drop that i could only get one burp out of it before it shut off. so i couldn't get my full 30 sec run to see if i could peak higher score although i did score over one DB higher than last comp w/ 137.9. i did win drive by and 80's drive by. i guess its time to get a bigger battery. maybe something else will help but not sure what

yea i am in the process in buildingnew boxmine is a little small and the port needs to be a good bit bigger. i met with the guy who makes the subs and he gave specs for a box to make them loudestthe port needs like 60 sqin , i have (4) 8's btw. i need to put more power to them or re-wire them to .5 ohm for comps because im not getting enough out of my amp at 2 ohmsand 2 ohms for daily driving. how would the box make me lose the voltage that quickly? it didnt do it last time. i was hoping you would respond for me on this. thanks

0 gauge wire, big three, dual batts. and you'll be fine.
a 0 gauge kit can be had for like $70 on www.onlinecarstereo.com
the steadier your voltage the cooler your amp will run also.......severe voltage drops are not good for amps......

i am definately gettin new batt and hopefully a high output alt, what are you talking when you say big three? i wanted0 gauge wire but at the time it was really hard to find anr it was over $100 because it ws a kicker wire that was super flexable and couldnt see paying that much when it wasnt required. i figure a cap would be a good investment too. thinking about swapping the 8's for something different

Big 3 = a must, and screw the cap as hillbilly said. Get a 250a alt. or somthing around that and a deep cycle battery, preferrably Kinetik or Optima. That should totally eliminate your voltage issues. I am running around 300x2 @ 1ohm RMS to my subs, and around 150x2 @ 4 ohms RMS to my comps so around 1k RMS wattage, I have done the Big 3 and have a Yellow Top on the stock alt... I have no dimming issues and literally zero voltage loss regardless. Give those things a try and you should be golden.
Oh and a 0 gauge wiring kit would be a nice addition as well.
