Infinity Kappa 463XF in my Dash
One of my Pioneer 4X6 Plate speakers died. I ordered a set of Pioneer 4X6 speakers from Crutchfield that were supposed to fit my vehicle. Passenger side fit perfectly but the duct work on the drivers side would not let the speaker mount properly. Since I had the 4X6 plate speakers in before. I ordered the Kappa 463XF on Amazon for $99 (Refurbished) The passenger side fit without any issues . The drivers side speaker had interference. The speaker needed to be moved left about 1/4 inch or less to fit the opening. I cut off the factory mounting posts. Then positioned the speaker to the left and mounted the speaker to the factory grille by drilling for mounting holes and using the supplied screws to mount the speaker to the grille. The grille and speaker fit right in place. The speakers sound great from my Pioneer head unit.

One thing I've done with the new dash speakers interfering with the ducts, when it's just a small interference (like 1/4" or something), is to carefully heat the duct with a heat gun to soften it, then install the speaker. The softened duct will form to the speaker, and make for a perfect fit and the 1/4" change in duct shape won't affect anything.

Heating the duct work is not a bad idea. I might get a replacement vent grill and give it a shot down the road. If it does not work I still have my modified grille. The Infinity Kappa's [plate speakers are the best speakers I have heard in the dash.
