Installed Boss Radio~have had to reset twice?
hello~ I installed a new Boss radio I purchased from Pepboys... A couple times I've gone to start Blazer and radio display reads welcome but will not do anything more than that.... I have to reset radio to get it working again. What would cause this? It appeared to have had a system in it from previous owner and I know it had a satellite radio in it before that I uninstalled when I first purchased the truck. I don't think any of those things would cause it but never know with these things? I'm wondering if I just got what I paid for a cheap radio...?

I think it could be an issue with the 12V constant
I am thinking if it loses the power when the ignition is off , it loses its memory
Some detachable face units have watch batteries to hold the memory
All of my thoughts are based on the issue happening after the vehicle has been turned off
not familiar with Boss , here is their tech support

Well, not to be rude, but boss is not a good brand, but that being said, it should still work.
How did you install the stereo? did you cut the wires and splice them in with a wiring diagram, or did you get a wiring harness that plugged into your stock unit? if you spliced the wiring, go through and make sure you got the proper 12v wire. I believe there are sticky threads in this audio section that tells you what color wire is what.
if you use a wiring harness that plugged into the stock harness, give it a better ground, maybe the ground is not making a good enough connection. Sometimes the ground that is on the stock harness does not work as well, and you have to splice into it, and ground it at a better location.

Yeah I know the wires I've done it a 100 times... That was a joke about the wires. Hate taking apart the dash but I looked over everything again. It looks like ground was getting bad conection were it meets closest to the radio. Must have became a little loose when I was putting it in. Haven't had issue but I'll let you know if it happens again. Thought it was just that I got a cheap radio that had a glitch... so we shall see how it does...
