Question Installed new radio - how to get steering wheel controls and cassette adapter to work

Hi, I'm new to the forums. My question is I just installed a Pioneer P7100BT radio in my 2000 Chevy Blazer and it works great, but how do I get the steering wheel control and the cassette to work with it? The cassette thing came with the car and is under the AC unit in the center. Please let me know how to make them work. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately you lose the steerling wheel controls (and I'm guessing the cassette too) when you install an aftermarket deck. it's one of the main reasons I've been holding off on going aftermarket.
You can buy units that work with aftermarket decks to allow the use of the steering wheel controls. Here is one example: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-f5todfF...&ssi=0&tp=3405 (note this particular example doesn't say it's compatible with your Pioneer deck, but it gives you an idea of what you're looking for)
Unfortunately they're not overly cheap.

Edit: I just found a listing of a bunch of them in an old thread: http://pac-audio.com/Products.aspx?CategoryId=29

BTW - Welcome to the forum . In the future try doing a quick search. This was brought up a number of times before.

The SWI-X model of the PAC Steering wheel controls will probably work for most. It's a universal model that works on a KHz Range instead of models. Hope that helps.

More info on the SWI's and what they will work with: http://www.pac-audio.com/swixprogram...rogramming.asp

And Amber... From what I understand it's fairly easy to wire up as long as you have basic knowledge of wiring. Take a peak through this thread: https://blazerforum.com/forum/audio-video-electronics-8/stereo-wiring-install-parts-11284/ it should help you out.

pretty much everyone will. Not sure if they would install the SWI system too though if they don't carry it.
Up here Besy Buy, Future Shop, Canadian tire...pretty much any big chain will install decks for you.
