It shouldn't take much time at all to get it installed at an audio shop as they most likely carry it. I would say not to go with the retail chains though as your getting the lowest bidder.
One hours worth of skilled labor on a part you bought is worth waiting half a day for some kid to figure it out for you working at an outlet that doesn't even know what it is.

In order to get the steering wheels controls working your deck needs to have a wired remote input and an adapter. I would definitely recommend installing the SWI adapter yourself. I did mine when I put my Alpine deck in and it was about 5 wire splices, pretty easy stuff as long as you follow the directions on the manufactures site. Buy it online too - Car Toys wanted 90 and I bought it on Amazon for 45. Good luck, I know how important those steering wheel controls are!

I installed a SWI-Jack to my Kenwood and the steering wheel controls and it works great. Check the SWI-Jack to see if it works for pioneer, theres a list of HU it works for. It's alot nice then some of the other SWI's becauses theres no IR that needs to be mounted.
