RE: looking for some good subs

really, we need to know what kind of power that amp puts out, and at what impedance levels. WHat is the model fo the amp???

you know what put that amp aside, is a kicker zx750.1 any good? i see them going for about 160 and shipping on ebay. If not what are some good amps for 0-250?

well im not trying to spend a million dollars on a system, im not trying to impress anyone.. And i have no idea what you mean by what kind of power...

RE: looking for some good subs

How much wattage do you want to run? If you're not trying to impress then 500-700 watts should be more than enough. Whatever impendance load the amp is rated at is what the impendance you will probably want to run at. For instance the zx750.1 you were looking at was rated at 375watts@4 ohms or 750 @ 2. To run at 2 ohms you will need some combination of voice coils either wired in series or parallel to give you that resistnace.

It is my personal opinion to stay away from kicker. I think there is better budget stuff out there.

budget stuff i like hifonics!

RE: looking for some good subs

I would go with some lower end JL Audio subs...maybe some w0's...they are nice subs, fairly cheap on ebay. 2 12's would be nice. but for $100 a sub, umm...thats tough...maybe some Rockford Fosgates...just an opinion. good luck

RE: looking for some good subs

alright, keep it under $150 for each sub. does that help any?

jagblazer01 04-20-2008 10:34 AM

RE: looking for some good subs

here....check out this site
www.woofersetc.com

there are some nice kicker & JBL subs on there
example: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3146

i would honestly stay away from the above mentioned w0 b/c they are garbage. cant take any kind of decent power.

jagblazer what do you think of kicker cvx's?

jagblazer01 04-20-2008 11:20 AM

RE: looking for some good subs

good budget sub.....but they are over your 150 range...didnt think you would wanna go that way

95BlazerLt4wd 04-20-2008 01:37 PM

RE: looking for some good subs

well what would be better the JBL sub you posted or a cvx, i think im just going to get one sub for now
and once i start working again get another one. so what do you think would be the best bang for the buck at 0-200? also, should i just buy the kicker zx750.1 for the subs and another cheap amp to run my speakers off of or should i get a multi channel amp? my price range just keeps going up and up lol.

edit: how are alpine type r's compared to cvx's and the jbl sub you posted

rockford p2s or p3s in 10s if you looking at tens I have 2 p2s with 800 watt pioneer amp and my side glass pushes in and out without the windows open. and sound quality is amazing. i think you can get them in a 4ohm for $90 i paid 110 but that was a while ago.

that statement right there is an oxymoron. You can not have SQ while damaging your ears.

all of the rockford punch series suck completely. PERIOD.....they type r's are a good sub. As long as they are powered properly and in a good enclosure they sound very good. I have a buddy running 2 12s on 2kw and they sound amazing

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA arent you supposed to be some big stereo guy here? Wow.

Fyi. SQ would be more damaging to your hearing than spl due to human ears being most sensitive to 2500-5000hz ranges.

bobditts 04-21-2008 06:39 AM

RE: looking for some good subs

im guessing that you are under the impression that SQ has more emphasis on the upper ranges of the frequency spectrum? SQ is defined as a sound system that can accurately play the music as it was intended while blending all frequencies together smoothly. You also listen to the music at a medium to low level. There isnt any possible way to damage your hearing with SQ

would the kicker zx750.1 be enough for 2 12's or is there a better budget amp with more watts.

RE: looking for some good subs

ok so the window thing. was a bad comment. i understand. I just know that alot of people out there are looking for the loudest possible things out there for cheap. personaly i dont think the p2s are as loud as others but the quality of a 10" sub is why went with the 10"s and have had lot of good experiance with rockford.

jag, what do you think of spl? better budget amps than the kicker?

RE: looking for some good subs

I am only running 1 12" kicker comp in an enclosed box with only 150 watt Blaupunkt amp, think what you will, but for 100 bucks my stereo hits pretty good....I actually got a noise ordinance ticket and turned it down WAY before I got close to the police officer that issued it.Budget stereo at its finest! Granted, I won't win any awards, it sure as hello beats a stock system by far.
