What does this mean if my battery is good but, has a low charge?? I got my alternator tested and it is putting out 14.4V with no problems, but my battery will be more than 4 years old this june. You think I need a new, better battery, like an Optima Yellow top or something?? I am running an audio system, But only 600w RMS and I have a 100A fuse under the hood, i use 2 amps, a multi channel and a mono sub amp. My sub amp is 500w rms and my 4 channel is 100w rms. Its not big power at all, I have a 2000 blazer with a 105A alternator. This setup will not drain the alt or battery, will it? I mean my electrical is good, no problems, but i am worried about my battery dying on me. My battery has a current CCA of 600CCA and is rated at 650CCA. Man that tested it said that if it drops below 500CCA, might want a new battery. But is my alternator charging my battery good enough. I dont use my blazer too much though, that could be the problem. Might wanna use it more and keep that battery charged. Any help will do. Thanks.

I wouldn't go with Optima's they've declined in quality. But the battery does seem like its having a big factor. How are your grounds for all this stuff that you put in?

Yeah my grounds are good, never had any problems with my amps or anything like that. What is a good battery for under the hood? I need a group size 75. Thanks.

I would look at these.

I'm able to push my SoloX18 with two of these (PC1700/95) and a 120 AMP alt(Its dieing).

I went direct and they said mine was a special model or something. I paid around $250 to $275. You can find them online pretty cheap as well just use google shopping :P. The 1230 would be a major step up but the 1500 would work nicely.

for a starter battery and an audio battery all rolled into one, kinetic cant beat beat. They are pricey though.

I ended up getting an Optima. The 75/25 size. works out well and powers everything just fine. I am only running 600w rms, you think alternator will be okay? My alternator puts out 14.4V just fine. But, i am running dual amps, 3 subs, 4 gauge wiring, ipod and radar. Will this strain out my alternator? My light dont dim at all. I heard that blazers stock electrical can handle 1500 plus rms, is this true? thanks.

If voltage is good, battery is charging, and lights arent dimming you should be fine in my opinion.
