I just put a alpine deck in my 2001 blazer and the radio works but when i plug my ipod into the cable on the deck my iPod wont work all i hear is the bass notes and no sound from speakers. but when the radios on the speakers work i need some help im confused. i know the deck works because i had it in my old truck.

 

Which deck is it? Sounds like there's a setting somewhere that needs changed on the HU.

As for the steering wheel controls you mentioned in the other thread, they won't work without an adapter that connects to the harness and HU specifically for the buttons. Again, with the model of deck you have it should be easy enough to tell you which one you need.

 

I would try another cable that connects the ipod
You said the head unit work on its own , unless the ipod itself is screwed up I would think its the cable

 

The deck is a Alpine cda-105 its not my ipod or wire when i put the cd in it does the same thing. I have a stock Bose system if that has something to do with it. I put the alpine deck in and subs today wishing they would work i cant seem to figure it out iv been at it all day.
