Default Need Help, In dash nav.

I just got my kit in to install my indash radio/cd/dvd/navigation unit. I need a little advise from you guys. Where would you run the wiring for the navigation antenna? Would the dash top be ok, or do you have to run it outside? I'm pretty sure I'm running the mic to the sun visor, but the Nav antenna has me stumped.

Do the directions say it has to be outside the vehicle? I would think you could put it on the inside at the top of the windshield.

Thanks. The directions suggest the roof. My garmin portable works fine on the dash. I just don't want to drill holes unless I have to.
