Default New Deck and Factory speakers

I just bought a sony deck for my blazer, but it still has factory speakers (two on either side in the rear)

Someone told me the factory speakers could ruin my deck, is this true?

hasent happened to me, i don't see how it could physically be possible. I wouldn't worry. Its more likely that your deck could blow the factory speakers.

Nope. It will make it sound 10x better. The speakers have no input on the deck.

I def. have to say the factory speakers are prone to just quiting on any H/U.

After I put my buddies H/U in his 98 his doors started going out one by one, mine were like that too, When I got the truck it had a pioneer deck and one blown door, the rest of the doors the surrounds were just beat and needed replacement
